I liked the version before and thought that all black and white would lose your son in the crowd. I was wrong, this is excellent and the eye contact now stands out on its own.

Well done Derek I like the change much better.

WAW, it IS more powerful this way! When the viewer eyes wonder around then stumble on your kid looking at him/her, it sends a jolt of electricity to the viewer. I'm not kidding, it is *that* powerful. Great photo.

Thank you everyone for your input. I resubmitted the picture in all B&W.

Yeah! I'd go for B&W too.

I'm with amm on this one but would prefer this shot in B&W so there would be no colour distractions from the eye contact. Partial desaturation is a cliché that only works on rare shots. This would be a powerful shot in all B&W with some burning in to guide the eyes to the boy. Well done on the shot mate:-)

Great shot! I think the eye contact will be more powerful had it been in either all color or all B&W.

Yes, very good and works very well with Us And Them in that you and your son are bound together with the eye contact seperate from all the others.

I agree with Dorys on all counts and love the two finger salute. Rich

this is great derek. some don't like the use of selective desaturation but i think it really works to isolate your son from the crowd. and he making eye contact with you sets the both (us) of you apart from the crowd (them). nicely done! dorys
