Now the mid day sun shot does give some idea of the light you work with in Norway, lovely shot. But the use of the Shadows & highlight filter does Norway a disservice. We all have differing lights to work with & this can add some difference to our shots. If we all use the shadow & highlights filter all our shots will have the same McDonalds flavour.
Alexeig.... That's interesting, about the colour of your Norway shadows. Had you not explained that, I would have thought your white balance was not quite right. Lovely photo just the same!
This is midday and this is about the highest point the sun reaches at that time of the year. On my monitor the colors are very faithfully reproduced to what I have seen.

No one suggested you introduce special effects Alexeig but I do urg you to show caution with the shadow & highlights filter. Your explanation has given me the urge to visit Norway to see the royal blue shadows you get over there.
Many thanks for comments. Rod: I do not introduce special effects and always try to reproduce what I have seen and what made me to make a photograph. Take also into account that the sun in Norway shines very differently from the sun in Queensland. Our light compared to your light is very pale. Our shadows are never pitch black and even our nights are far less darker than the tropical nights.
Cat: you have a really sharp eye. The light on the wall is reflected light from a window in the opposite building, while on the stairs you have direct light

Where does the blue colour come from on the handrails that are in shadow, Is it the shadow & highlight tool again?
