Lake Hume on the border between NSW and Victoria at the height of the drought, Xmas 2002. I should be 10 metres below water here. Taken with a Canon Sure Shot 120.
Nice shot.
It ain't changed much in 2005.
I flew over the Hay district enroute to Adelaide and it is just devastating.

Thanks Rod,
We were camped just 5 minutes from here so i tried that evening and the next morning to get some shots that were less bright but none of them were any good. This was midday with nigh on 40 degrees and the overbright light reminds me of the heat. The slightly darker patch in the foreground is where there must have been a shower in the last week or so and some lichen has tried to grow but has been blasted to brown by the heat of the day. Regards

Terrific shot Paul, in some ways we could say this shot is too light, but the lightness does reinforce the incredible heat & dryness you're portraying here. AND with the receding diagonal is on topic too:-) I bet you could even draw in some red triangles if we asked:-)
