It was shot almost against the sun at about half an hour before sunset. The sun stands quite low here and I believe that I did my best in postprocessing to make the sky, clouds, shadows, snow as close as possible to what I have seen and what impressed me enough to stop and make this picture. It looks how I have seen it, at least on my monitor
Many thanks for comments. Rod, I do use a lot of shadow/highlight tool and before that I used a similar tool from Kodak. I do not like black shadows also because when I am impressed by what I see to the point of taking a picture I never see totally black shadows, I always see some detail in them. I like to have a distinct local contrast instead. I feel that black shadows are more appropriate in b/w, but I rarely indulge in it. But, I can exxagerate sometime

Nice shot Alexeig well done. Did you use PS shadows & highlights filter? I notice some of your shots lately are losing the wonderful dark shadows that add a lot to the feel of a shot. Tempting as it is I think the Shadow & highlight filter should be used very sparingly as there's a slight false look to the results.
Had this photo been taken within the challenge period (as in eligible), you would've scored a touchdown (American football term for scoring). Excellent photo nonetheless.
