This is my first time in the challenge; hope I am doing it right…
St. Helens, Oregon is a small working-class community on the Columbia River 30 miles north of Portland. A major logging and shipbuilding center in the last century, the city has declined as the Pacific Northwest forest products industry has declined. Fortunately, St. Helens is within commuting distance of Portland so many of us (myself included) work in the city.
St. Helens boasts views of Mt. St. Helens , a quaint waterfront district with antique shops, and a busy marina.
This is the Klondike Reataurant & Bar, built in the early 1900's as the St. Helens Hotel. Employees of the restaurant say that the building is haunted by the ghosts of former hotel guests. My 10-year-old daughter refuses to use the restroom alone after hearing a story from one of our waitresses.
In the background you can see the Columbia River and the Washington shore.
That's it Phil,,,Boing on topic mate:-) Well done. Keep your signs handy because you can post it in the next challenge no matter what the topic is:-)

Oh my gawd we do get taken literally don't we:-) A pretty shot that shows your town is great, a pretty shot that doesn't show your town goes in the garbage:-) Now the views you have described in you commentary sound very on topic to me, unlike the shot of two signs you have posted here which is off topic mate:-) If you can shoot a shot of your town with Mt St Helens in the background you are onto a winner, same goes for the water front. Just don't post a shot of boats in the water, show the street & shops to make it on topic. Thanks mate:-)
