Just a small diner in Okinawa...forced myself to turn around and there was the shot.

I agree with the cropping suggestions below. I think it would put more focus on the people and less on the sunset (a good move for this challenge theme). However, I'd avoid putting them dead center. Perhaps only keep the window pane just above them and the one to its right. Brian

I like this one, but do not like the roof. Have you tried cropping it 2x4. I think it makes a more powerful image. Just a thought. theFly

Thank you, this was my first 'challenge' photo - where I actually went out shooting with a theme in mind. As you can tell by the number in the title, I've gone through several iterations of cropping. This was the best, for me at least. I like how the brightest part of the sunset and the eyes of the two kids at the diner fall in the opposite 1/3 corners. I knew the roof and the jagged patio wall would form a nice top and bottom frame, so I cropped a bit left and right so the sky had no framing on the sides giving a limitless feel. I agree with you though that there is something not totally engaging with the composition.

I like this shot and find it very interesting. I might crop out that window on the right as it distracts my eye. IMHO rich
