Beautiful Gayle! Hmmmm... this seems to explain you complaint about coming home filthy after a shoot! It was worth it! ~ Lonnit

I'm away from home visiting with my elderly mother, and this is my first time at a computer since the last challenge ended. Gayle, I'm absolutely in awe of all three of your photos. In this one especially, you have captured the magical quality of the late afternoon light.

Yes a fantastic shot that emphasises what photography is all about "painting with light" .....Well there are some other things too:-) After reading the effort Gayle puts in to get her shots I'll be staying in me snapshot mode & me chair:-)

Quite an imposing composition... you can't help but look at the tree all the way to the top! Love the quality of light in this shot.

LOL, that's funny Gayle. I was going to say your camera takes nice photos, but that *come here NOW* photo still haunts me....

: )

Good job!!

Thanks Gayle. Do I have to wear military fatigues to take such a photo :)thanks for the tip.

aam, to get a photo like this:
Get out of car with telephoto lens to shoot birds in tree. Walk towards tree and scare birds away. Notice sun has suddenly come out and tree is glowing, run frantically back to car, rip off tele lens, put on wide angle lens, run back towards tree, throw yourself on wet ground and wriggle commando style until composition is right. Shoot 2 photos before light dies, stand and take a bow in front of open-mouthed friend ;-)
Nothing to it!

Just breathtaking Gayle! I need to move to Australia... I absolutely love how the evening light highlights the white, faded tree and this being contrasted with the storm clouds. The slanted tree really adds impact. The hint of grass and/or grain provides the perfect foundation. 100% on topic!
