This one is nice, although generally I do not appreciate partial desaturation

Great shot and processing! The girl draws you in as much as the apple.

Brian.. it was blurred but I wanted it a bit more blurred so I did just that.. a layer in blur.. I LOVE shallow DOF but my 50mm was driving me crazy trying to get the apple just right so I switched lenses

Enticing! Just curious... were you able to achieve the shallow DOF with an aperture of f8 or did you need to selectively blur a layer in PS and erase the section which covered the apple? However you did it I think the amount of blur is just right! Brian

Nice job. i like the selective desaturation for this shot. I think it really conveys the message.

This does work better than the colour one.

I like this! (But is that "Eve" giving the hand out?")The apple shows up beautifully on my Apple 20" monitor, BTW. Shu

I did it in full color on my Photo A Day.. but when I posted on PhotoSig they all said the skin color was too unnatural. There is quite a bit of yellow left in it even though I took out a ton. I'm not sure why as I had it set to AWB and it was natural light.

here's the color version:

Great! I love the glossy apple and to me the partial desaturation works here, even though it draws the attention to the apple rather than the person.

Great concept and execution. theFly

What are you doing Jude. I really hate the partial desaturation technique yet I really love this shot....You're driving me crazy.....To be expected from a girl:-)
