I like it but I think it is perhaps oversaturated making the colours 'buzz' and look almost blurred, I'd be tempted to try and ramp up saturatation on the red of the sign and maybe the blue of the arrow but leave the rest (see where the white of the chevrons meets the green of the grass - it glows!).... otherwiseI like the composition, I think it would be stronger if there wasn't the black/white chevrons or the bit of building or whatever at the top left (i.e. you got a bit lower maybe not sure but just had solid hedge. All this is easy to say but not easy to do without risking life and limb on the roundabout! Paul Donovan

I know I keep going on about the 40 sign being too close to the right but maybe that isn't the real problem. Having another look at it I think the composition would work better if the arrows & blue sign were in focus & the 40 sign out of the DOF. Then the eye would see the 40 sign & go past to the in focus arrows which would lead to the focal point of the blue sign. I do think the over processing works really well.
The 40 is not ideally placed for a traditionally composed photograph, fair enough. It was a difficult composition to organise (the perfect composition would have had me standing on a chair in the middle of a road). - Adam

What do you call major Nutcase? The 40 sign is the only thing in focus so it is the major part of the shot. BUT:-) I find it too far to the right to be pleasing to the eye so to me is not working as a focal point as it should. Know wot I mean then:-)

The 40 sign is too far to the right, the eye doesn't stay there & there's nothing else to look at because of the DOF.
