I agree, here the frames aren't the subject, but they compose the background. They form the line of repetition, and the bikes follow it. Wait a bit, there's another shot with a bike and a frame, upcoming.
Outstanding image and treatment. I don't, however, get the framing though. I'm seeing it as the bicycles being the subject but they are not framed by the arches. I wouldn't really consider what's behind the arches to be the subject; to me that is background. Am I missing something? For the quality of the image I'd vote for it in a heartbeat. I need to justify its eligiblity as a frame shot though, so please justify away so I can vote for it b.c. I love it! ~ Lonnit

I wonder why nobody mentioned a much better compositions of the bears on the other image.

thanks. I was actually looking for symmetry and dialogue after reading the book on photo composition. Later I found it would fit into the contest theme.
Fantastic photo! I love the repeating things in here.. the bikes.. the arches.. very well done.. the over golden cast is great too

it's actually "end of main road". Isn't it international?
thanks. The other one with the same bikes and same place is here , but it doesn't have anything to do with frames.
