Here's my third version... Shoreline waves have been darkened and just a small sliver of them remains, but I think it gives the photo some necessary perspective. I've also cloned out the stick that was near the tip of the feather...it had been bothering me, but I didn't think anyone else would notice (Ha! Fat chance of that happening with this group.) until Techo mentioned it. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Then why not just burn (darken) the shoreline & leave it in. Always remember have the shot how you like it Mary Anne:-)

I do miss the shore but if you must crop it... If I may suggest you also clone out the visible leaf stem or stick next to the feather in the bottom right hand corner.

OK, here it is with the shoreline at the top cropped out. I think it does have a better center of interest now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Lovely shot Mary Anne, I would like to see what it would look like with the top of the shot burnt in or cropped out as it competes with the feather. Really good shot though:-)

But the irony is that the soft feather has sharp pointy hard edges and the hard rocks have soft, rounded edges! So you even end up with each being an opposite of itself! ~ Lonnit

This is beautiful. The soft and fragile feather against a backdrop of hard rocks.
