Well Rod, maybe I should have posted this comment on this challenges dpreview forum. I suggested that maybe we should alter the CSS file for our challenges so that the photos look better against the background. I suggested using the same grey as Elements 3 uses for it's background. Here's the link.

That doesn't look as good does it! I notice in the picture area PBase adds a thin grey border to our shots which doesn't seem noticeable & all the unbordered shots in the challenge look great. So maybe a thinner less glary border would work. Thanks for posting the un-bordered shot:-)

Here is the picture without border.
IMO it blends too much into be background. =Paul

Is there some way to post two of the same shots with & without the white borders? Maybe down in the text area & we can see if the border enhances or distracts. In my opinion the only thing that jumps from the background is the white border. At least make the borders off white especially on subtle shots.

I think the border enhances the image in this case (although I'm generally not a fan of borders).

Thanks for your comment Rod. I was forwarned that you would not like the border. The reason I put it on was so that it would stick out against the grey background. =Paul

A really nice shot Paul, I don't know which word subtle or peaceful applies to this shot it has a great look to it. Not helped by the glaring backlit white border.
