Close Up Lens *

My office studio

Most of my close up pictures are shot with this handy Hoya lenses, and the Lensmate 52mm adapter.

A comment on post processing here. To preserve the highlight detail that Rod luckily noticed, I had to do some selective sharpening. Using the same theory as partial desaturation, I did some 200USM on a duplicate layer and then erased the highlight area. This was necessary as the highlight, when sharpened, got blown :)

Thanks Nugar, I will have to print it out & go through it step by step. I learnt a technique last year on how to bring out the shadow detail using Lab colour & layers. Not having used it for a month or two I forgot how to do it:-)

Sharpening can be a real bugger when highlights are present in the shot, as Nugar said. I can only do the simple things in PS as I can't use layers or the technique Nugar describes above, so I use the magic wand & isolate the highlight from being sharpened.

Very nice control of the lighting here Nugar, look at that little highlight, the little bugger has detail in it. Well shot mate I like it:-)
