Communing with Nature (*)

Sunset Pond

I love being in the natural world and catching moments of natural beauty with my camera. I especially like to photograph wildlife. This goose was basking in the late afternoon son. He was grooming his perfect feathers and looking about as beautiful as a goose can look. Luckily I had "Thag" along (the name I've given my huge 100-400 L lens) and was able to catch this moment.

Canon EOS 20D

Thanks Ann. It will be interesting to see a B&W taken by 20D. Please let us know when you submit such a photo, and info about the filter used (if any).

Hi Aam... It was in color and I converted it. I haven't tried the b&w on my 20D yet. I've just had it about a month so I'm still learning about what it can do. Ann

Noticed that you used a 20D. Did you take the photo in B&W or was it in color then converted it (I'm thinking of getting the 20D myself).

Just love that photo. Making it B&W was a good choice.

Beautiful photo, Ann. If geese can show expressions in their faces, this one certainly radiates serenity.

ann, this is a wonderful shot. love the black and white of the bird, the clarity and "expression" of the bird. have missed you in the mini-challenges.
