Comfort With Nature
by Markjay

Ok fist and foremost.... I'm most comfortable with nature. Sometimes nature is comfortable with me.. such as this bird who was kind enough to allow me to photograph him on the wet reflective sand.

Second: IGNORE the EXIF date.........
I reset my Drebel and the camera defaulted (unbenknownst to me!) to of all things.......
the year 1980? That's very weird! I can ASSURE you , I did not own this Digital Rebel in 1980 :-)

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/1000s f/10.0 at 209.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I noticed the clip of the shadow also, but figured this was a once in a lifetime capture. great job! and no blown hightlights to upset Rod. :-) dorys

Beautiful lighting Mark. Love his faint reflection in the wet sand. Ann C

If you folks knew jsut HOW fast these little buggars are... he finally stood still for that ONE second at most, for me to capture him in this spot. If I had about 5 more seconds, I might have had time to think about the fraction of shadow that is "out there".
Thank you for the comments thus far. Markjay

Hey... I had a rebel back in 1980... but he wasn't digital, and my mother didn't like him! :-)
Very nice shot... I love the glassiness of the sand. I agree with Rod about the shadow though.

Very nice shot. I mentioned to Shu about the tendency to place the subject too far left or right of the shot, yours is just right BUT:-) I wonder if we could have had all of the shadow. I don't know if it would improve the shot or not, hard to tell without seeing it.

I believe you. I like the combination of shadow and reflection of bird.
