Antigua Guatemala *

After seeing ISO's technique I tried a little photo blending myself. I blended two photos together to get the proper exposure of both the sky and foreground. It was harder than I thought it would be since the photos weren't exact matches. Let me know what you think and any hints here would be appreciated. The original photos can be found at the bottom of this page. http://www.pbase.com/atothev/retouched_photos . This was done with PSE2. The photo is a little busy i.e. the car in bottom right corner. Also, not exactly sure if this would be considered a "scape".

Thanks for the suggestion Neil. My camera doesn't have exposure bracketing but I should have put it on the minipod and taken two different exposures. As it is I ended up doing 2 handheld photos.

Yes, I think this is a scape. I don't find it easy to blend layers either, I don't do it often, for me it takes some practice with different brush sizes and softness. It would be hard with 2 frames that don't line up exactly. Does your camera have exposure bracketting, so you don't have to touch the camera on the tripod between pictures? Otherwise you could use the one picture, and use levels or curves to get 2 differently exposed layers. Neil
