Old Quarter Pelicans *

Old Quarter, Panama

In this shot you can see the ubiquitous pelicans that seem to be all over the Old Market area at the Old Quarters. The Old Quarters is the second Panama City, built by the Spaniards after the first one was burned to the ground to keep Sir Henry Morgan from capturing it. He took the gold anyway.

Thanks Melissa! This area is full of small fishing boats, almost dugouts painted in bright colors. It is both a fishing boat and market area. Full of people from very early in the morning. And as you can see, the buildings are also brightly painted.

nugar , I love this shot, the colors are so wonderful, I can almost hear the sounds of the activity going all around.

Thanks! I've been trying to know what is the yellow building. I think it is the "refurbished" Ministry or Exterior Relations, but I'm not sure.

Your pelicans are ubiquitous as our pelicans, just different colours. Love the contrasting colours in the buildings. Neil
