Aththev, Trail Ridge Road in Colorado is the highest paved road in the U.S. It is located in Rocky Mountain National Park and much of it is above tree line. There are numerous elk and big horn sheep that live up here in the summer. Thanks for the comments. Mark

Really put the IS lens to the test as my hands were shaking pretty good. There were actually two more elk up on this ridge. -- Thanks for the comments .... Mark
Oh yes! This is most certainly on topic and one of the best and most natural wildlife photos I've seen recently. I can only imagine how excited you were when you downloaded your pics and saw this. BTW, I am a huge fan of photos with a blue sky background.....sometimes nature provides everything we need for that perfect shot.
