The image has suffered fairly severely from compression...it's compressed to a level of 5 in Photoshop. This probably accounts for the softness. But it could be that I needed to use a smaller aperture too :-)

A good detail shot, but right hand side doesn't look as sharp as the lock itself. Maybe a smaller aperture would have helped. (I'm being picky but I think I can be with you)
