A shame for what was quite a unique looking home. I think this will take more than a coat of plaster and a lick of paint to sort it out. I wonder why this happens to some places? When folks move out, why do these places stand empty and deteriorate until the point of no return?

This is the largest house in a neighborhood of row houses. Several of them are being rehabbed but this one's too big and too far gone. It's one of several interesting buildings on my commuting route. Another is an abandoned factory that looks like a medieval fort; it seems strong enough to stay erect. And there's the limestone-fronted former firehouse...

I checked out your gallery of photos. Looks like it was once a beautiful home. How sad to see it deteriorate like that. Did you have a special reason to chronicle the building's demise?
