Oddly, this photo reminded me of my grandmother, who emigrated from Czechoslovakia (more specifically, the Slovakia part, not Czech) to the U.S. in the early 1900's. She's been dead for over 40 years, but I have memories of a face lined with cares, but somehow still soft despite the sadness that often seemed to fill it. This is a very evocative shot, and as it's your mother I'm sure it's especially meaningful to you.

Thank you for the comment! It seems depressing to me as well and I figured it's right.
The title: Well, it came up to me that the expression of the face, the wrinkles and the atmosphere tell the story of her life (thus Biography) (it's really her, not him :-)). She may be thinking about the childhood long gone, good times and bad times, her own children growing up and going away..
Well, actually it's nothing really dramatic :-). The actor is my mother and I took the shot secretly when she was thinking alone. (praise to the swiveling LCD of A80). Tomas
Thomas-I think this "actor" has provided a great pose for your image. I just question the title and wish for more info and perhaps other photos to tell the story. The shot is really quite depressing, but very well done. Shu
