Little Boxes *

Massachusetts

by Pete Seeger

There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same

There's something about these houses that always makes me think of this song, even though they're just yellow and white and have the advantage of being waterfront property (which, in my opinion, is never "ticky tacky").

I don't live on the water as these houses are, but there are rivers, lakes, and streams throughout the area, and the ocean is 2 or 3 hours from here. This scene is probably about 10 miles away. I have to admit that I love the geography of Western Massachusetts, as well as the change of seasons (although winter seems to be getting longer every year). --Mary Anne

You are lucky to live by the water, I am landlocked. The reflection is really great.

Yes, I can see why it suggests a jigsaw puzzle. Never thought of that. --Mary Anne

Screams "jigsaw puzzle" to me. Great pic.

Funny how people like to build houses all the same. Love the reflections
