Strange Fruit *

Coronado, Panama

Song by UB40.

To some of you this fruit may be strange. Or you may have it in your country. This is where the cashews come from. Here in Panama it is called marañón. The fruit itself is edible, with an astringent flavor. But the nut can't be eaten unless it is roasted.

And I just found that the fruit is called "cashew apple" in English.

Another "strange" point. The cashew, which is plainly visible at the end of each fruit is actually the seed of the fruit.

There you go!

After I processed that one, I noticed another one without the stick. I'll see if it looks good and replace it ;)

Fits the title well - a very strange frit indeed, great sharp colours. The stick on the left adds balance, but I'm not sure that it adds anything else to the picture though

This is also the title of a very powerful song recorded by Billie Holiday in 1956, referring to lynchings of Blacks in the American South. --Mary Anne
