A walk in the woods *
Fourth Place

Massachusetts

There's a watershed area that begins at the top of our street, and it's our favorite place for walking. On this morning, a gentle snowfall had lightly covered the trees and the ground, emphasizing the peacefulness of the place. If you look closely, you can see my husband with one of our dogs, both of them dwarfed by the trees towering over them.

It's just started snowing again, with up to a foot predicted. So, I'll have more chances to work on my wintry woods photos. Maybe some B & W this time. Is there a trick to really catching the snowflakes in photos so they don't look like streaks against the dark trees? Mary Anne

I agree that the tracks and a person with the dog make this image which otherwise would be still nice, but a bit predictabl

Funny... I LOVE the wheel tracks and think they make the image! Especially with that sudden curve they take. It takes it out of the realm of the same old person walking thru the winter woods, that's been done a billion times, although superbly, and gives it a whole new feel. I think it's a perfect capture. Congratulations! And of course, no disrespect meant to those who don't agree with me. ~ Lonnit

Nice subtle tones, I like the person giving some scale - shame about the wheel tracks, Neil
