Last time I was in Paris, I spent a day visiting some of the cemetaries there, among them
Cimetiére de Montmartre where this shot was taken. Hidden away among the hundreds of impressive statues
and memorials was this little 'shack' which had obviously not had any maintenance for
decades if not longer. The prayer chair was crooked, the paint peeled off and the walls chipped, yet
the little statue was still there, still on its knees praying and didn't look like it was going to
give up its post even though noone cared anymore.
The light fell in on it beautifully through the broken window above it though, so perhaps it wasn't
completely forgotten after all.
