Paul, i think your comments sum up the image well. Initially i hesitated to display this image as i considered the fireworks to be the primary subject (or payoff as you say). But as you describe, I like the idea that your eyes 'cross the bridge' (frame) to reach those colours. Thanks for your comments. Stuart
To me, the burst of fireworks is the "payoff" to this image. The diagonal of the bridge leads one's eye across the frame and we are rewarded at the far end with the burst of color.
