We were house-sitting a friend's home on Lantau Island
and awoke one morning to find this stray cat protecting the front door from
a 6-foot rat snake, either from instinct or because it wanted to come indoors itself.
The cat never left until the snake did and shortly after seeing these shots,
my friends adopted the cat and the house is now his.
