Metro (*)

A Paris Metro station seen from above. I kinda like the orange benches but may have gone a bit overboard with the saturation to emphasise them... :)

Canon PowerShot G5
1/10s f/2.0 at 7.2mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I love the crispness of the color. Yes, I could see why you might consider BW for this shot, but I think most people would do this BW when they really shouldn't (with utmost respect to the other comment). The color on this is so wonderful and striking and exciting, it would be sorely missed, making the shot lose all its energy. But yes, in BW it would be a study in texture. Perhaps it deserves to be displayed both ways so we can appreciate all it has to offer. :) Wonderful!!! ~ Lonnit

Excellent capture.

Thanks for the comment :)
I did try a partial B/W version of this image where only the benches and sign were in colour, but felt the tunnel wall looked better with the hint of colour (although I really liked the black and white too). I think the picture lost a lot of detail and the sense of 'depth' after being shrunk and compressed for web-use though. -- Sigurd

I would like to see this in B&W. It think the stronger part of the image is the shapes and texture. theFly
