Power of three
*

Gävle, Sweden

One of my first pictures with my new S50, got it this week.
Nice star effect from the low sun - no filter was used.
You really have to make the most out of the few hours of
daylight here right now, this shot was taken at 10:40...

Post-processing: Slight crop, Resize, Histogram adjustment.

Unfortunately, due to the 150 kB limit, there are some
quite visible JPEG compression artifacts in the blue sky.
I don't know if they can be removed without a larger file
size as result?

Canon PowerShot S50
1/250s f/8.0 at 7.1mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Nope, it is not from Älgsjön - the shot was taken just outside Hagaström.

It looks a bit like around "Älgsjön" (Lake Moose), correct ANLO?
I like these back-lit images.

Thank you both for your comments, they are appreciated.
Been using an Ixus V2 (PowerShot S200) for a year and a half,
finally got myself a camera with manual controls...

(And yes - it is quite dark this time of year, but we have the more light at summer)

A great start for your S50. The lighting on the insulators and the rising sun really adds to the shot. Only a few hours of sunlight a day - I don't know how anyone can you cope with that.

Pleased you could join in! The position of the sun is really cool and the way the sunlight reflects of the ceramic thingies on the ends of the cables is pleasing. The lines breaking up the sky makes a nice graphic concept and bonus points for getting three pylons in the frame at once :-) Can't see many artifacts on my screen. Don't worry about it!
