Thanks for the comments- there was a thunderstorm that afternoon, I was trying to get a lighting bolt in the picture as well Z :-0

Had to stop composing and get back to work (was at Murdoch Uni for a meeting). Knew that if I didn't get it then it would not make the eligible list!

The sign would not stand out as well if the sky was light blue (I liked the way it looked "faked into" the photo although it is unretouched). Maybe a sunset shot, when the sky still has some colour, or a dawn shot (sun is behind the viewer).

And chop that tree down down next time too. ;-)

I really like the elements of this photo, but a grey sky in Perth at this time of the year??? That's unusual in itself! But yes, a blue sky and slightly better exposure would really make this shot special.

I second everything ISO said. Well done but a different day and time it could be better.

I think that perhaps the overall look of the picture, (light and colour) could do with some enhancing, perhaps shot at a different time of day. If this had the richness in the sky of Gayles windmill shot, and the lush green on the trees this could be visually stunning - though I recognise that it's not always possible to be in the right place at the right time of day!

However, I find the composition and idea one of the best here. The way the two triangles complement each other, and the arrows on the sign complementing the motion of the windmill itself is pure genius.

You've visualised this well - but it could be a masterpiece if you revisited it.
