After photographing the highly refelective surface of an electric guitar last night, I can appreciate how well you have done this! I like the random arrangement of the batteries on the white background.

Mad - most likely ;-)
I recognized this would be hard. I don't have a light tent - probably should have shot it in a room with diffused outside light. However, I liked the colors and shapes - so I simply enhanced some of those. With this shot (as opposed to the last) I just took a few shots, picked the best, and moved on. I actually was hoping to reshoot later this week, but a unplanned trip will prevent that.
BTW - thanks for comments. Makes me relook and rethink - something I should do more of. I also should have followed the advice of John Shaw : plan, and then plan again.

For (*) reasons! Curved surfaces. Shiny curved surfaces. What a horrible subject to deal with. Lighting is very difficult with these sort of things. I think you've made life hard for yourself here Jim. All those different angles to deal with, almost unavoidable to get glare and hotspots somewhere. Even pros hate this sort of thing. Best shot with large diffusion or a light tent. Are you mad?

Nice collection of batteries. Can I have the double A's? I'm out. Oh, and you just gave me an idea. Thanks
