Sorry about my first post on this image. I realy misunderstood the large sence of Emotion that everybody showed in here. And looking more seriusly on this picture, and especialy in b&w I see it a whole different way.
Brings very philosophical thoughts in my mind.

I converted it into b/w, and it kicked a**. You should give it a try to get rip of that happy bright green.

Yes, and that's exactly what the actual scene portrayed to me. I was out walking with husband and daughter when we came across it. Neither of them liked it and my 9 yo daughter went so far as to comment "Let's go, I don't like this place". It certainly did have a sad, disturbing air about it.

I keep coming back to this image. It's disturbing in some sort of way, but I can't quite figure it out.

Jordan--check out the official challenge thread athttp://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1010&message=6324375

Any shot that shows emotion, or has an emotional meaning should be on-topic. And yes--that's supposed to be a broad definition.

The challenge is "Emotion", and when I saw this very odd scene and photographed it, it brought out an emotion in me. I found this chair placed as you see it, beside a busy highway. My first thought was "How very strange", further thoughts were "How sad, it looks very desolate"....almost like it had been placed there for someone to sit on but they never did.

I wander what is the relation between this picture and the challenge Expression? Should be a challenge for human or animal expressions, no?
