Love is a frog....

Narromine, Australia

When my son was a toddler he went to stay with his Gran for a few days for his first ever holiday without me. On his return he cuddled me and pulled this small frog in his pocket, which I recognised as belonging to my Mother. I asked him what he was doing taking her things and he looked at me, eyes wide and said, "I missed you so much, and wanted to bring you home a present. I didn't have any money to get you anything". After explaining it was wrong to take things that belonged to others we rang Gran up. After telling her the same thing she told me she said she didn't have the heart to take it back. I have treasured this frog ever since (My son is now 12). When I look at it I remember the small boy who loves me so much that he just HAD to get me something to show it.

If we were voting on stories and not photographs, this one would win hands down! Such an insignificant object can become so precious. At least if you ever lose it you have a photographic record of it now ;-)

Another contender for the nicest story of the challenge. I'm a big fan of this story+picture thing - wonder if it has a name as a genre!? I like the fact the background is blurred and the focus is on the frog and he looks kinda content with the loving effect he's had. Simple and the story adds value to the picture.
