I love this picture; it has a kind of uncommon creativity and cheerfullnes. And the dog ís cute of course.

Very cute, and great photo too. I'd like to see more eyes too but sometimes subjects don't cooperate.

Really nice picture. I hate to disagree with Iso, but it is nothing personal - I love the composition just like this.

I looked at it and thought it would be reaaly neat if the knot hole on the wood was just a bit higher and centered on the hidden eye! It's still a great picture without the knot hole eye!

I think I'd been on Photosig for too long when I wrote it LOL. Aren't comments fun. Be boring if we all saw things the same way :-)

I would like to respectfully disagree with ISO on this one. I think it strengthens the picture to have the dog off to one side and even to have just one eye showing. It makes him look more confined and therefore more pitiable. Also his nose and his eye are in key focal points in the image. And the grain on the wood adds another round shape to this composition. Personally I wouldn't change a thing. Ann C

This isn't my pet, I "found" him when I went for a walk. He had obviously been left in charge of guarding the house for the day and he was doing a fine job of greeting passers by. He was very co-operative when I took photos of him, far more so than my own dogs are. But I didn't want to scare him with the flash....and the fence spaces weren't wide enough to get both eyes in. I do actually have one where he is in the middle of the shot, but it just doesn't "work" as well as this one. He was a lovely boy and we had a terrific photo shoot before I continued on my walk :-)

Ahh, going for the cute vote are you ;-) You can almost feel the wetness of his (her?) nose. It's kind of irresistable, and I know pets are not the most co-operative when it comes to being photographed, but I think the composition would be stronger still if we were able to see both eyes, and a shift overall towards the centre of the frame would give better symmettry. Those lovely eyes would me even nicer with a catchlight in them, maybe from a small burst of fill-in flash. However - not all pets are as happy with flash photography that people are! Please see these comments as constructive/complete garbage as you see fit! iso ---

Wonderful nose! And wonderful picture. It really expresses that forlorn look that only a dog can have. Love it. Ann C
