By including the dark negative space, Doug really shows what would have been if there were no direct Sun. This contrast works to complement the sunny part, making it all the more delicious. I especially like the subtle blues and how they are waiting their turn in the sunlight.

Thank Jano and Tommy. I don't know if they're sunflowers of not being only a couple feet tall. I thought of cropping out some of that negative space but wanted to keep the effect of the bent flowers reaching into the light while the upright one stays in darkness. Maybe I'll take a look at cropping it. -Doug

Doug I'm going to detract from the other fans and suggest a crop off the top and right to give the outstanding left its due prominence. Great light and exposure makes it work. -tv

Isn't it a sunflower? I like the subject to the far left of the screen... wit the little bit of glow to the bottom right. Everything seems to be detailed.. I really like it a lot! jano

Thanks Rod and Penny. I think it's a weed but I'm not sure. It's a natural plant I found up in the mountains. -Doug

Are they really weeds? You did this extremely well and I like the composition.

Very nice Doug the light is really nice here. The darker background really adds to showing the nice light. Well taken mate.
