Great piece of work. Very tricky sense of scale. -Doug

My favourite position is third Tommy, it would be second if there was no chance the winner would say they couldn't run the next challenge so the second place has too:-)

Thanks Tommy, it is the angle and proximity that makes a big wheel look even bigger. The room is quite large, you could fit an Olympic size swimming pool in there at least.

Impressive hunk of metal that I would have guessed was more like 5 meters in diameter or more. The scale is quite perplexing but it seems to fill the room, or is that just the effect of the angle and proximity? Or maybe it is just a small room.
Rod I envy your winding down, and thanks for filling in for the host with your commenting. Or are you winding up to host the next challenge. I'd say the odds so far are in your favor. -tv

Thanks Penny :-) I'm sure I could have bumped up the ISO and still gotten a decent quality, but being down on the ground and well braced against the side of the machine I felt quite comfortable with a 1/15 sec shutter speed at such a short focal length.

Nice job with the perspective and colors!! How come you didn't up the ISO?

Thanks Rod mate. Well I can see wanting to wind down from that kind of work at some point- we're talking about really heavy stuff. To give an idea of scale that wheel must be nearly two meters across. This is a pretty neat spot really. Most of the stuff in this room must be about 100 years old and comes from companies like Rolls Royce and Ingersol Rand. They quit making gas here many years ago so the City tuned it into a park instead of hauling it all away.

Nicely done Brent, being able to view through the wheel without the feeling being of being distracted Is a really good touch. This is the sort of pipework that I used to do for 40 years before winding down to retirement doing the water meter work. This picy brought back some good memories.
