Yes Rod the s70 had the real ISO 50 and it was silky. The maximum speed was a really noisy ISO 400. It's a crime that it's gone and a casualty of consumer wars driving out really fine low noise image quality. -tv

I expect a full recovery from you Jano. -Doug

It's possible that your S70 had a real Iso 50 Tommy I know my G2 has. The 5D produces a less clean image than Iso 100 for the reasons stated below...............So I have read:-)

I like dandelions, and like the effect you got here.

I've alwqys enjoyed Dandilions in spite of the hype against them. Something about this capture rings so true to nature and modern suburban reality that I really like it. Maybe some day I'll find a used 5D and explore the wonders of ISO 50, like my old kaput S70 had. -tv

Ok - i see what you mean. Ya pretty basic but then it has literally rained every day except this w/e. We went fishing and the ground was full of dandelions. I saw a flock of birds that fly outside my office building in the mornings, but alas I didn't take the cam to work, not to mention it was so drabby outside. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't :) Thanks for the comment though. jano

No my comment about Iso 50 isn't related to any problems with this picy it's just that Iso 50 isn't as clean as Iso 100 because it's generated in camera by underexposing an Iso 100 picy & then boosts up the brightness increasing the noise so a lot of 5D users won't use the in between Iso's.
I'm just making a joke of it cos I don't have anything nice to say about this picy, it seems very basic for your skill level.......But it is bang on topic:-)

Rod - what is it about the ISO 50 that you believe degrades this pic? Thanks

I actually like the look of dandelions. I just wish they weren't such a nuisance. Penny Street

I've read that Iso 50 on your camera is not as good a quality as Iso 100 Jano. Iso 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, & 3200 (not sure beyond this) are native Iso, all the others are software generated & produce more noise than the Iso above it.
I'm glad I had this tit bit of information for you so I can avoid commenting on this picy:-)
