Thanks Sue Anne, Mary Anne, Tom and Penny. These are lovely delicate flowers, one of my favorites. You all would have loved being in CA today - sunny and 70 degrees! :-) CJ

Nice processing. Interesting image that almost looks like glass to me somehow. Penny Street

Points: three for the flower in the corner and . 75 for touching two edges. Negative space a bit bleached but doesn't matter pointwise. Peddles of flower are in contact with opposite edge while missing corner. 1.5 points. Total technical points = 6. Bonus 5 points for living in CA. -tv

Very nice, CJ. I like the slight transparency at the ends of the yellow petals.

Beautiful, it almost looks like an orchid.

Thanks all. I was going to title this "Columbine Remembered" or some such thing as I will always think of that tragedy every time I see these lovely flowers. The bright background is concrete and I was concerned about it being too bright, but I liked the way it plays up the colors in the flower. CJ

Great image Carole! You really got some special color here, and I like the bright (yet not studio sterile) background.

I was only joking Doug It's always good to remember as these events seem to be forgotten all to easily.

Sorry Rod. I thought about that after I posted. This beautiful flower is a symbol at least here in Colorado. -Doug

Thanks Doug, the picy was cheering me up until I read your post:-)

Where's the bird? I was hoping for a series. So.. now you go for the vote. The bloom is bellissimo! The negative space seems a bit bleached. But what an aggressive sence of tension generating balance it produces because we don't expect such a glaringly bright patch in such a delicate flower picy. I prefer your version. -tv

Beautiful, Carole. The pure white negative space really helps to set it off. Unfortunetly the first page that comes up if you Google "columbine" is a tragedy with an anniversary that is only weeks away. -Doug
