Sorry Aam the bw pickers win. I'm going for votes.
Thanks Techo you read my mind. -tv

I think the BW version was a bit better but this works too. I like the crop. Don't think you could do it better. ~Christakis

I was eyeing this shot before the switch to color. I must say I liked the b/w version best. A very interesting study in making tight crops work. Normally I'd be tempted to leave more space on the side of the chair but here it works really well. I also thought then, why not crop closer to the door as well but then we'd we missing the texture surrounding the door jam. So it's just right the way it is, but in b/w ;)

Thanks Sue Anne - this is the outsider's view.
Thanks Kurt and Debi. I take 'em as I find 'em; you calls 'em as you sees 'em. No apologies or explanations needed. I'll probably replace it when able. -tv

Interesting that the two balance each out though I was expecting to looking out.(window)
.... and LOL with Rod' scoring system, he is a tougher scorer than TV.

Interesting composition and I like the BW conversion. Just having trouble with the tight crop (I know it was specific for this challenge) - but it throws off the lines and feels a bit crowded. - angioman

Rod, what would we do without you to keep us amused? Seriously.

If the door were not there it's a boring picture. If the chair were not there it's a boring picture. Yet somehow they play off each other and make for an interesting shot. -Doug

OMG, Rod has morphed into a Tommy! I bet Tom took this shot and then thought up the topic as it's perfect for the challenge. :-D CJ

Good B&W, interesting textures and lighting and very nice composition! I like this! shu

Yes a really nice picy with good balance a. The broken render top left of the door just interacts with the side edge & flirts with the top...1.5. Also the chair is just touching the right side & is shy of the bottom edge...1.5. Good use of negative space with the crack taking us from the door to the edge...3. Bonus points for picking a great topic 2....Minus 8 points for being the host, total 0 points:-)

I love the white and black, all the textures, and the doorknob. Nice one!

Why B&W, if I may ask.
