I also don't know about "rotation", "events" etc ... but I think I know what Penny wants to explain: This photo is candid, no doubts. But what is this picture about ? It is about poster, it is about creative crop , it’s about contrast between Lady on poster and the salesgirl behind the desk. It works to make a really interesting picture. But this all is not about candid. Candid can be a snapshot of an action - but we don’t see any action here, it can be an interesting expression - but I don’t see something special in girl’s expression. WE don’t see here something what makes this picture interesting AS CANDID.
Do you see what I mean ?
Altogether it is a really VERY interesting picture and - I really love it - and it is candid as well, no doubts ... but it’s value as Candid is not extremely high, I'm afraid.

No rotation allowed - that was not covered in the philosophical conversation IMHO and the need of an "event" surprised me too. I thought that "candid" is a
Czech New Wave-kind of shot, in which the story is secondary. Penny, size does not matter - the picture is about the salesgirl (just imagine the shot without her). Cheers, DaB.

Second thoughts - Sorry it still does not work for me because a candid shot should record an event. There should be no distraction such as rotating the image through 20deg

I commented this morning but it's gone missing:
I said that this is a really interesting photo but that it doesn't fall into the category of a great candid, in my opinion, because the lady in the poster is wanting of way more attention than the lady behind the desk (who we are supposed to be looking at.) Penny Street
