Lots of opposites and I like this version - it makes a stronger, cleaner image. Good eye Debi! :-) CJ

Perfect contrast between modern and traditional in this. Really well seen, Debi, I knew you could do it! I like the new version with the pole cropped out. Good work! ~Sharon

Looks better now. The halo, as Rod suggested, and the iron pole on the left :)
ctfchallenge14-Nov-2008 23:19
it looks naturally good to me... Penny STreet

replaced the picture- cropped - less sharpening - but the halo around the arms will remain, it was the light and is there in the original too - Debi
Rod 13-Nov-2008 08:12
Maybe wot Aamm is seeing is a sharpening halo.

aam - I am not sure what you mean about the gap or massaging in PS. Only usual PP here - levels, curves, sharpening and a bit of exposure control on the shorts and bags. Nothing else. Will remove the post some time. Thanks for the suggestion.

Tom- henna is temp. The leaves of the henna plant is ground to a paste and applied with a cone ( like icing) - Debi

Tom, by definition, Henna is temporary (few days, maybe weeks, at most).

Debi this is very nice but I agree with Aam on one point - the object on the left distracts from the cleanly captured clothes and skin. Are those hennaed hands tattooed or just temporarily decorated? -tv

You opened a Pandora box on yourself here, Debi. Hmm. Look at the gap between the guy's right arm and his T-shirt (and his left arm for that matter), or the girl's skirt. This has been "massaged" in P/S, hasn't it :)

I still think the left iron thing on the left is not contributing much to this photo.
Rod 12-Nov-2008 19:13
Aamms right the whites do look good.
aam1234 12-Nov-2008 19:12
Not in my (calibrated) monitor.

thanks Penny. aam again the exposure layer in cs3 has come in useful. the bag and the shorts were somewhat overexposed. Debi

lots to look at - good contrasting opposites here

Btw, getting whites to look white is no easy task. Just ask Rod. You accomplished that here.
aam1234 11-Nov-2008 18:34
The composition and exposure here is just great. If I were you, Debi, I would crop the little pole on the left.

Good work, matette.
ctfchallenge11-Nov-2008 18:32
Wow that was fast. Thanks aam. I was also looking at the modern dress and traditional hennaed hands. And of course male & female - Debi
aam1234 11-Nov-2008 18:30
He has no butt! but that's not your fault, Debi. Excellent photo, especially the play on B&W and color & no color.
