You folks obviously don't have the exciting life I have here! LOL!

The dead flies were, unfortunately, quite easy to collect. It was Summer and the horses are near the house... the flies were awful this year. So, they'd get into the house and die trying to get out (sounds like some humans I know... but I digress). I just went to the window sills around the house and there they were. I had the toad first... Our youngest son brings me stuff like this because he knows how much I like to photograph them. :) I make them a star and then let them go. They don't even miss a meal. :)

Debi, I spent extra long on the processing on this one, but still it was only about 20 minutes. And it's relaxing to me to work on photos... almost as much fun as taking them. ~Lydia

Lydia, what I really want to know is where did the flies come from? ;^) ~d.tallakson

Love the captured texture of the frog and metallic look on the flies. Very well done :)

What a great photo, Lydia. If you haven't started submitting some of your work to a stock photo agency, you really should.

Pretty morbid picture, but fascinating :)

Thanks, Lydia! The light tent is what gives you that flat white background, I have been promising myself to get one for three years now. Of course, you are no slouch at post processing and that is what gives your images that special "Lydia" quality, along with your extra special models! ~Sharon

Great pic. I am feeling tired just listening to the amount of PP involved - Debi

Thank you, Sharon! The shot was in a light tent with fixed lighting left and right. Post processing: Crop, Lucis Arts, border, clean up spots on paper, Shadow/Highlights, saturation, brightness, resize, Neat Image, USM, Save for Web

I call it "The Morning after The Big Party". Can't you just see him as hungover and cleaning up all of this "leftover food"? :) ~Lydia

I know why you do it, because you do it so well! Can you tell us about your lighting and post processing for this shot? I really love the white background with no detail other than the shadows, how was that accomplished? ~Sharon

LOL... a better question, tv, would be, "WHY do you do it??"

*grin*

I guess I'm just really bizarre. :) ~Lydia

The toad looks totally bored with the dead flies, like a cat who's pray has given up the ghost. Bizarre again. How do you do it? -tv
