Thanks Lydia & k2 - a word about the 2 players. The dog is a small (female) dachshund, the sea star is average size, probably about 12 inches across. The day I took this (on Discovery Bay in the Pacific NW where we live) I shot 31 different sea stars, some purple, some orange, one (called a sunflower) had 21 arms that I counted & was about 18 inches across.

I feel as curious as the dog looks, about that starfish. Never seen anything like it. I like the composition here. Tricky light, and an excellent shot. Can't quite decide whether I think this is over-processed or not. So I guess you got it about right :)

Jeepers! Is that a really small dog, or a huge starfish?? Well done, xray. ~Lydia

Thanks Sharon. It's fun taking her on a walk at super low tide.

This is wonderful, it really catches the essence of a dog's curiosity. Great exposure and processing! ~Sharon
