sorry YB. When I hear people commenting I can't help myself because with some post processing your files could be bigger and pictures less noisy. You really should try it. Levels, curves, a little sharpening - stuff that doesn't have to alter the photo much. You do own some version of Photoshop or something, right? You've got a good eye (and mind) and your picys (in general) would look better, I promise. Penny Street

Sorry Penny, the old brain box isn't working today, I'm afraid you will have to decode the message for me.

The noise in the ground bothers me. But, still this is wonderfully 'telling'. ~lydia

This is such a poignant image. Even in the midst of poverty, the children seem happy and hopeful while the woman seems sad and hopeless. The silhouetted woman contemplating the image makes one wonder what is going through her mind. Terrific, powerful image YB. CJ

I like the way our silhouette seems deep in thought- good one YB.

thanks Rod. I needed that. See Konstantin's "Lady in Yellow" in exhibition. I've sorted myself out, I think. Penny Street

Even if you got the topic straight in your own mind Penny us posters would confuse the L out of you anyway.

Wonderful and thoughtful image YB! The stark contrast between the black silhouette and the children framed in white is powerful. You have competing subjects that illustrate two extremes in real world culture. - Angioman

Think about the color here - why is it minimal? I think it's because the gloss made it subdued. I'm trying to decide a few things to get the topic straight in my own mind.

This works extremely well for me as is. I wonder if she will be hungry enough to eat some of the nice food in the shopping bags when she gets home after viewing those picys. Excellent shot mate.

Thanks for all your comments.

Aam please don't kick my butt, but I can't stay at home for the next two week.

I go out, therefore I must take the G9.
I take the G9, I must take some shots.
I take some shots, and with a bit of luck and the wind blowing in the right direction 1 or more might be good enough to post.
I might have pictures good enough to post, then sorry Cheka Kidogo has to go - such is life :)

love that silhouette. Powerful image, YesBut, and nicely seen.

I don't know what the title means which makes it kind of a statement of the separation and even alienation of the developed world from the troubled areas of the third world here on display. Quite a powerful image and commentary. -tv

The shilhoutte adds impact to the already touching subject. Well done. -COAmature

are you still shopping?
aam1234 23-Oct-2008 21:00
Btw, if you move this one to Exhibition I will fly to London to kick your behind :)
aam1234 23-Oct-2008 20:53
Not sure if the left reflection is needed. If I were you, YB, I would crop it and see which one looks better.

Good work! All of them, especially this one.
