I really like this Penny! I might have cropped the sides a bit to get rid of the black lines and maybe a bit on the bottom too, but a great image as-is too! :-) CJ

The Neat Image gets rid of the panel lines in the ceiling and walls... making them look seamless and all lit up themselves... just adds more 'sci-fi' to it. Not necessary, but fun. ~Lydia

Oh Wow - change the tint to a bit green and that man could be Keanu - Debi

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, Kiki, it's weird but real. And I wasn't thinking sci-fi when I took this so it surprised me quite a bit!
Lydia, I'm no judge, but I'm not going to try and change this now - partly because I like the filmy effect. I said I took this quickly and it's kind of a slow shutter speed for me so I can imagine that even the little bit of sharpening I did might give it a grainy look on some monitors. For future reference, though, I will look up and see about what neat image does.
Another interesting thing about this room is that it changed color. (I watched from outside the building before I snuck my way in.) But some of the darker colors (purple, for instance) didn't portray the variances in hue as well as this one did.

I'm not so sure Lydia as this looks perfect on my CRT screen. I fired up Mereanas laptop to have a look at this to see if what you're seeing is the way LCD screens butcher the tonal range in a picy. This picy on the laptop loses all the subtlety in tones that I can see, the floor on my screen has a lovely dark sheen whereas on the laptop the dark sheen has gone revealing more of the subtle fading tile lines. The contrast between the bright corner lighting & the walls is very abrupt on the LCD but on my screen the light gently darkens away from the lights. The darker areas of the walls look like very fine film grain on my screen yet looks more towards noise on the laptop. The panals in an LCD need to be S type panels that Apple used to use but now sadly they have gone to the cheaper panels for their mainstream LCDs. I think we have to buy in the top third or quarter of the price range to get panels suitable for viewing picys, like the Apple cinema display which I saw a year or so ago & it displayed picys really well.

I think a run of Neat Image (free) would make this even better, Penny. ~Lydia

Wow Penny! Wonderful! The slight tilt of the gentleman really adds to the distorted sensorium this image evokes. -Angioman

Extraordinary picture, indeed looks like a Sci-Fi scene. Or "computer art", yet it's obviously real. Nice find and well shot.

Jeeeez.. where is this building? I got to see this. Well done, spacey image with nothing natural in it. The figures behave like sci-fi robots. -tv

Ver nice - it looks like a scene from a sci fi movie.

It's the lobby of a small building that I just happened to pass by on 44th Street.I did this rather quickly as I don't think I was really supposed to be in there. Penny Street

Other-worldly, indeed. And the colors are great. Where was this shot, Penny?

Gawd Penny this put me in a tail spin, it looks so space age, surreal, & plays wiv me senses. You don't need to speak in any other languages as this picy really turned me on:-) The bloke is in just the right position & the floor reflections just spin me mind. Wot a great capture I now have eyes for no other:-)
