Very nicely done - I like the pp process you did.

Thanks Konstantin, Doug and Lydia :) for your comments. I knew this photo would not appeal to everyone here, but hoped it would appeal to a few, which it does. I will still post the original when I have a minute (froze sweetcorn tonite :). I did used the pro 1's ND filter which gave me ample room for the balance between sky and ground. Yes, I did process this photo... but to add to the ambiance of a fair vs. just a pic of a shadow. For that reason I choose not to crop as I feel the ppl add to the ambiance of the fair... to clone them out, for me, would be worse than accentuating the shadows which are just part of the feel. Again, lucis art is not part of my flow and I do not own that software. jano

This is strange. Either I'm the only one with good taste or... Uh oh... -COAmature

Nice picture, gives a good carnival atmosphere even it is a bit overprocessed.
I think I would try to crop out a bit of the empty space on bottom and on the right up to the person in the blue shirt.

Thanks Penny and CJ :) I don't think cropping the ppl out would work, but I'll see what it looks like when i get home. I tried to catch a photo when no people were in the pic (state fair and all)... but then the carnie came up from behind me and started flirting with me so I decided not to take more egads lol.... jano

I'd like to see the original (maybe in pending) just for curiousity sake. This is nice though.

Jano, this does have a nice quaint country fair feel to it! It does seem busy though with too many things to look at and the shadows don't draw the eye much. I played with this a bit and it could be a stronger "shadow" image if the people on the right were cropped out and the lady on the left also and a bit off the top and bottom. This brings the emphasis to the people on the swings, their shadows, and the colorful tent in the background. You could adjust s/h and contrast a bit if you like but it doesn't really need it. These are fun shadows and I hope you don't send it to Pending! :-) CJ

Thanks CoAm, Rod and Brent for commenting. This isn't lucis art. There is some extra processing for the ground. I'll post the "original" if this really irks so many stomachs. I thought it had a nice quaint feel about it, and added some interest. I'll see if I have any other types of pics as I was on the hunt for interesting shadows all day. Ya, we had a great time at the fair. :) jano

Nice idea with the people creating shadows Jano, but it's already a carnival atmosphere without the need for wonky processing. Shadows would show up better with normal precessing too. Hope you guys had fun at the fair?

Wrong Doug:-) It reminds me of the look of the shadows & highlight thingy in Photoshop. The colours seem off wiv no contrast to them.

I'm really into this photo Jano. There are only a few types of pictures that I feel the Lucas effect can be used successfully on and this is one of them. I'm sure even the photography purists will find it hard to resist liking this shot. -COAmature
