Rod, I agree with Jano. But I love the rustic look of this latch - I can see why it grabbed your attention. - angioman

I like this Rod, but the shadow doesn't come to life for me as in your other great shot. jano

I think I like the one in Pending better but maybe that's because I'm just ornery today. ~dtallakson

Well done Rod with plenty of texture. Such a minimal lock on a substantial lock. -COAmature

Thanks Tommy & Tom:-) It gets really hard sometimes to pick a picy to post as I normally like girly type picys but sometimes I override me own judgement & post something I think may be of more interest & this is a case in point. Inside I liked this one better but went wiv the other one thinking it may be less cliche. Should always go with the heart & not the head a:-)

Nice & sharp, with a good tonal range.

Now I have looked at the pending version again and remember seeing it before it was moved and not commenting because I didn't like the composition. This is so much more satisfying to me - tighter comp, less distractions and it draws attention to the important details of the "Lock" and the old, heavily painted textures. Shadow contrast is better too. Or maybe I just like the paint.
It would be very interesting to debate the merits of the two versions. -tv

Thanks Brent:-) It's in pending now, I thought it may have more interest than this one but maybe the shadow is more pronounced here.

I don't see your previous version in pending Rod, but from the glance I saw of it earlier I liked the comp better. I like the saturation of red on this better I think- maybe do this treatment to the other one?

All me rejects are in Pending, thanks mate.

I missed the first version I guess since this looks good. Too bad I wanted to say it didn't look good. -tv

Does this one work any better girls?
Rod 16-Aug-2008 21:54
Thanks Penny, Carole, Aamm & DT:-) I was too scared to try too much levels Carole as the white where the lock shadow is is almost blown. I don't know how to leave one part of a picy as is & then adjust the rest as it always shows a line of difference.
ctfchallenge16-Aug-2008 12:17
I like this Rod but I think a bit of levels adjustment would make it look even better. There seems to be a blue cast to the whites and the shadows could be darker black. What do you think? CJ

you guys are funny. Nicely done, Rod. I like it.

Yes, that's the one I was referring to.

I like this one, Rod. I was thinking to myself...I think I've got the key to this somewhere. ~dtallakson
Rod 16-Aug-2008 08:27
I can't remember any locks in the last challenge Aamm but I did like DTs key in the red box, do you mean that one? Thanks mate.
aam1234 16-Aug-2008 07:44
Did you get the idea from the lock in the last challenge ;) This good, mate.
