TV - thank you for your remark.
I think this image is "people oriented" and even more then some others. A small forlorn old man with his poor stuff (may be this is all he has) eating in solitude his rice and being totally overwhelmed by these red latrines. He looked so foreign in this colorful festive environment and this contrast was the idea of the picture. I am surpised that you don't see this here. Or, may be, the image is indeed so bad that such obvious idea is difficult to recognize ?

Frankly this surprised me from you because your images are usually so people oriented. Here the man is overwhelmed by the red lamps, which may work for the color challenge but denies the image of its natural interest and focus. -tv

Rod, thank you for your remark. I wanted to show two contrasts here - a contrast between latrines "glowing" under sun and their shadow as well s a contract between this reach colorful environment and this poor old man with his stuff. This is why the title "Light & Shadow".
It's pity that you don't see this - that means that I didn't manage to show this in my picture. PP was minimal - color correction + slightly "shadow & highlights" to reveal details in shadow - otherwise the old man would be too dark.

Strange I don't see any sun or shade here. Maybe the way you process to get detail removes the light & shade differences. This can also remove the mood/feel of a picy.

Aam, Penny, Brent, Doug, Debi - thank you for your comments.
- I don't think an another crop will work well while the old man would be to close to the bottom.
- The latrines were really glowing under strong sun. You are right, Brent, lowering the luminosity would increase definition but the price for this would be loosing the glowing effect which I enjoyed in "real life" and which I would like to keep on the photograph.
- What abut color - I really don't know. I should first check the photograph on my office PC. I know that what I see on my iMac (with HD resolution) and what I see on my OC is oft different. PC picture is oft more reddish. Usually I download picture at home, do check on the next day on PC and do correctness's if necessary.

Good one. Full of color and shadow repetition. -COAmature

This is wonderful Konstantin! This works very well on so many levels. I really like the silhouettes of the lamps on the sidewalk- good thinking to include them. One thing I am wondering if you experimented with to possibly make a slight improvement. The lamps in direct sun are glowing as they naturally would and because of this there isn't a lot of definition between them. I am wondering if lowering the luminosity of the red slightly or maybe burning just the shadows might increase definition in that area? Great work mate :-)

You hit on a good one here, Konstantin. Love those lanterns!!! please tell us the story - why are they hanging there? (waiting to be purchased? lighting at night?)
Including the man completes the picture (for me) but I'm wondering, since you have the wonderful long perspective going on already, if you should crop from the bottom and start the angle from the line on the left bottom corner.
Oh - I also like all the black and white detail.
