You gotta love a beautifully executed macro shot :)

I like the lighting and cropping here. ~dtallakson

Thanks, Angio. Guess two lights not working helped here :)

I like the lighting here, aam, gives it a unique look and adds some depth. - angioman

Thanks, Cat. A CPL is Circular Polarizer, Penny.

what's a CPL (I have so much learning to do)?

Thanks, Tom. I should mention that a CPL was used here which might've helped with color.

This is terrific in my book Aam. Great crop results in much action instead of a static flower shot. Well done colors, bg, and framing. -tv

Thanks, Doug. Rod, I might give that a shot...literally :)
ctfchallenge02-Aug-2008 03:24
With a black background the colors are forced to be part of the subject. I would like the light to fall off at the background pedals some which may be difficult. -COAmature

Wot about light coming in from a window, nice diffused light.
aam1234 01-Aug-2008 23:03
Too hot to shoot outside, mate :)
Rod 01-Aug-2008 22:30
I really like the look of the centre with the darker parts but the outside petals are a bit light for me. Have you tried this in natural light Aamm?

Thanks Jim, appreciate your comment.

Thanks Penny, glad you like it.

Great color and good choice that the two flowers are so similar in tone! Penny Street

Thanks Brent, Mary Anne, and CJ. Brent, you have a good eye because two of the three strobes went out so I had to use the remaining working one only :(

Mary Anne, the 100 macro is simply excellent, not only for macro but for general use too. Highly recommended.

CJ, you are right, those are two flowers. Don't know their names in English though.

Thanks again for the comments Ladies and Gent.

Never mind what I said about the light source earlier Aam, this looks much better on my monitor at home. Sorry about that mate :-)

Love the color of this Aam! Is this two flowers? It looks a bit like lily petals in back and a mum in front? The dark background looks good too! :-) CJ

Beautiful colors, Aam. I've been thinking of getting that lens. What do you think of it?

No reason for this flower to be shy; it's a goodun' mate. My only tiny nitpick is a wish that a little more light source was coming from the direction of the lens to put more light on those emerging petals. Still very nice Aam with natural looking color.
