Thanks much Mary Anne, I thought it was a little too "busy" myself after looking at it for a while. I've caught some nice details, but you are right as is Penny about the ducks not standing out enough. I'm still going to plug away if I can make more time :-)

Brent, while this photo is certainly "in the zone," to me it just seems too busy, and so some of the wonderful details go unnoticed. From the treetops down, the texture is lots of tiny pieces, preventing the eye from resting anywhere. I think it needs some kind of contrasting area, like large smooth rocks or fog or something like that. If I'm not making sense, take a look again at the wonderful examples that Cat has provided links for.

Thanks Cat, you are kind :-) I don't think I'm really doing anything in my work flow you didn't pretty much cover in your double post. Just what I always do and then what you mentioned. I think it was Mary Anne who said in a thread that Ansel usually shot for sharp focus everywhere. So as you can see I used a small aperture here. Everyone can do this (or better) if they would just get out a shoot some. Not a lot is being posted and everyone is so quiet. I have other images I could post but wish I could get a little more feedback before swapping things out. It takes some of the fun out of the challenge :-(

Brent, looks like you have perfected the zone system :)
You are doing a great job in this challenge. May be you should describe your work flow for all of us here. !!!
